Warmer weather, more finished knitting

Well the weather here finally warmed up and now we have rivers of water running down the streets and potholes galore. I at least feel like getting up now, the gloom of winter really gets to me.

I frogged the Montegue hat and instead made the Odessa hat pattern by Grumperina. I really like how it turned out!

I sprinkled some catnip on Meow's cardboard cat scratcher thingy and she has taken a great new interest in it. I think I need to get her a double-wide one.

Here she is trying to eat my oatmeal.
I started another Kitty Pi for her last night out of Lion Brand Wool. I will make this one bigger and have a little bit higher sides. She likes to have a bed in every room.
I guess today I will make the trek to Vitamin Cottage to get the wonderful Greek Yogurt, YUM. I hope this time I don't get scolded for buying too many without calling first. I can't believe that dairy lady would even give a rats ass who bought the damn yogurt. I will just fill my cart and make for a quick getaway.

Learning to Blog/I hate the cold

Well I guess after reading others blogs I have realized mine is incredibly boring and is really just pictures of stuff. I guess I should try actually putting down some thoughts and stuff.
All I can think of today is how much I hate the cold. It isn't supposed to get out of the single digits today. There is another couple of inches of snow on the ground that I really should go shovel up before anyone drives on it making it impossible to shovel up.
I finished the socks made for Larry and they look really nice. They are just a bit too big for him though. Go figure. I wonder if they would shrink just a little if I washed them in hot water? Famous last words. They are 100% merino superwash wool. They will either do nothing or I'll get socks to fit a Barbie(I guess that would be Ken)

Here are the socks-

and a close-up of the seed stitch ribbing. I used a pattern called Thuja but I used my favorite sock cast on and heel.

Next project is a close fitting hat for my daughter.

I found this pattern using a stitch pattern I haven't used before so it should be interesting. It was a little hard to get started but I think it is coming along O.K. now. Fortunately I had the yarn specified in the pattern YAY! Unfortunatley, I didn't exactly have the needle sizes recommended meaning I have to do some calculations, BOO. Anyway here is how far I got last night
The pattern is Montague. I am using the Lion brand microspun but I only had 2 sets of size 10 needles and I don't have any size 3 needles at all. I want some though so may need to order from knit picks. Alternativly I have this really cute novelty yarn that looks like little blue flowers that matches so I may just do something completley different for the brim.
Well I guess that is more than I have said in the past couple of months! Much better.
